Accommodation

Our courses take place at Good Counsel College, New Ross, Co Wexford. The campus provides an excellent learning environment, offering a wide range of educational, sporting and social activities, boarding accommodation and a modern restaurant.

Boys and girls are housed in a range of different buildings/houses on opposite sides of the campus (3 for Girls & 2 for boys). Beds are typically bunk beds and room sizes range form one to six bunk beds, with separate shower areas attached to each accommodation area. Students may request to share with a friend/friends and we will try to ensure that students will be housed with at least one friend when they arrive at registration on the first day of a course.

A teacher is assigned to each accommodation area and will be on call at all times during the night should he or she be needed.  In addition, our Cinnirí/Cúntóirí (assistants) will share accommodation with the students to assist and supervise our students while encouraging the use of Irish at all times. We try to have at least one Cinnire/Cúntóir in each room. Our teachers and Cinnirí are all Garda vetted.

CCTV is in operation 24 hours a day to help to ensure the safety and security of our students while on the campus.

Bank
Students may deposit their spending money in the Coláiste Banc at the start of a course for safekeeping. The bank will open daily at 9.30am and students may withdraw their money as required.

Tuck Shop
Students may avail of our Tuck shop during the course for drinks and snacks. This is a great opportunity for students to put their Irish to use in a practical way.

Medical Care
In the event of a pupil requiring medical attention Coláiste Laighean uses the services of Airmount Surgery and/or Caredoc facility. A qualified First Aid attendant is on duty at all times.

*Parents/Guardians are responsible for payment of any medical fees incurred.

A Note to Parents on Residential Courses

It is our primary aim to look after each and every student on a course and to ensure they are fully supervised at all times. No risks will be taken in this area and should a child put themselves or others in any danger, they will be removed from the course immediately.
